Catechism by Sara Machen Fogle - 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle
Sara Machen Fogle’s recent work pulls from traditional iconography to depict a pervasive, modern-day figure, the cat. In Catechism a hairless sphinx is portrayed in a way that society typically reveres these beings -- as wise and mystical creatures with timeless beauty. Sara Machen Fogle makes art for love. After being sidelined by injuries that directly affects her hands, she’s aware that what she can do with them is based on precious time. And recently, has decided that she wants to focus that time on art she truly loves. Sara is a life long art and animal lover, a tattoo artist by trade, and a fan of fantasy and whimsy. She attempts to combine these loves in her art. Working primarily in colored pencils, she creates whimsical and serious pet portraits. At her parlor - on the outer edge of downtown Athens, Georgia - Fogle puts her art background and years of tattooing experience with all styles from traditional to color realism, into custom-designed, artistic tattoos. As for Catechism, this is the first in a planned series of modern iconographic images.
