Cassandra Ott is an artist based in Buffalo, NY, best known for her vibrant public murals and joyful art inspired by her optimistic spirit. Her artistic journey began in her youth where she was nurtured to pursue her passion for all things artistic by her creative parents. After receiving her BFA in photography in 2001 from the University of Cincinnati, she started to explore many different mediums, leading her to create her own product line while also pursuing public art. Ott's mural work includes projects like the Title IX commemorative mural at the University at Buffalo, which celebrates inclusion and equality. Her artistic style brings rainbows, flowers and other cheerful elements to public spaces, reflecting her playful perspective on art and life.
In "Maiden Veil" Cassandra captures the beauty of Niagara Falls by layering vibrant color accents over vintage black-and-white photography ā a signature style. The piece depicts the American Falls and the adjacent, narrower Bridal Veil Falls, which are part of the iconic trio of waterfalls that span the border between New York and Ontario.
