Widespread Panic has been together 30 years. Formed by original members vocalist/guitarist John "JB" Bell, bassist Dave Schools and late guitarist Michael Houser, who lived together in a suburban house in Athens, GA, while students at the University of Georgia. Later to be joined by drummer Todd Nance, percussionist Domingo "Sunny" Ortiz and keyboard player "JoJo" Hermann. The current lineup now includes Jimmy Herring on guitar and Duane Trucks on drums.

Since each Widespread Panic show is a little different, original show posters help folks recall the unique setlist and lend a visual credence to the memory of the event. April of 2007 brought a Spring Tour that, for poster enthusiasts, marked the band's turn from the cleaner, graphic poster years back to a heavily illustrated aesthetic. Jeff Wood was invited to design a poster for the two-night show (with openers North Mississippi Allstars) in Raleigh, North Carolina. The original screenprint (sized 15" x 22") was a limited, signed and numbered run of 275.

After 20+ years as a poster artist, creating for the band, in a life that's filled with lots of great music and people, Jeff reflects: "To know my art is so closely associated with a band I admire and respect is a dream come true. I get to draw the face on their shows and document moments in time for the fans. When someone gets a poster it becomes a road back in time. The covenant is that you can look at the image and instantly be transported back to that night, the music, the raging with friends, and everything that comes from it. That's what gig posters are about. It's a pretty special job that I deeply love."

Widespread Panic believes that art education, and in particular music education, is integral to the overall development and advancement of children. Art allows for personal expression, appreciation of ideas, celebration of cultural awareness, sharing emotions, and gives purpose to life. Widespread Panic agrees with research findings that art education supports more traditional academic subjects as well as being a worthy pursuit in its own right.

Proceeds from the sale of this puzzle benefit the Widespread Panic Tunes for Tots program. Tunes For Tots began in 2005 and supports music education for children by raising funds that provide musical equipment and educational technology to public schools. To date, the organization has raised over $2,000,000 that has directly impacted schools at home in Georgia and across the country.
