Lisette Correa, also known as ARRRTADDICT, is a Puerto Rican artist based in Atlanta, Georgia, known for her vibrant murals, graphic designs, and streetwear. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Correa's artistic journey began in fashion, inspired by her grandmother who sewed quinceañera and wedding dresses. She transitioned into graphic art after an internship with Sean John in New York, where she fell in love with designing T-shirts as a form of artistic expression. Correa explains, “I kind of got more in love with art than with fashion. When you start designing T-shirts, it’s kind of like a canvas because you’re creating art rather than just creating a garment.”

Correa often highlights cultural representation and social issues. She is proud of her Puerto Rican roots, often incorporating Taíno imagery and Caribbean influences into her designs. The Taíno were an Arawak people who were the indigenous people of the Caribbean and Florida. At the time of European contact in the late 15th century, they were the principal inhabitants of most of Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola (the Dominican Republic and Haiti), and Puerto Rico. Lisette believes that, “to be grounded in who we are today, we must first remember our roots,” an ethos that’s beautifully incorporated in her work “A New Adventure”. She explains, “when I was illustrating this piece I imagined a modern day Taíno girl going to what Disney World would be if it was in a rainforest for indigenous people. Instead of Mickey ears I created a leopard ear hat and utilized my print in the birds of paradise. It’s truly a tropical paradise adventure reppin’ for all my Caribbean Taíno people.”

This piece, created for the Atlanta Crossroads Mural Festival, is located at 687 Humphries St SW and celebrates the historic neighborhoods of Adair Park, Pittsburgh, and Mechanicsville. Correa has designed graphic apparel for major retailers like Target, Macy's, and Urban Outfitters, and contributed to Pride collections for Macy's and Target. Her work includes concert posters for Red Bull, collaborations with Nike, and beer labels for breweries, including the "Sufferin’ Til Suffrage" IPA. Her public art is featured across Atlanta, with murals at MJQ Concourse, Living Walls, and the Atlanta Beltline, highlighting her vibrant and culturally rich style.
