Tim Lee has been a professional artist his entire adult life. Originally from Marion, OH, "a small town in the corn and soybean section of the state," he went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Columbus College of Art & Design. Lee's first art job was at an illustration studio in Atlanta, GA immediately after graduation, before finding himself working in a large newsroom art department. This eventually led him to Raleigh, NC, where he took on freelance magazine and corporate assignments. But his dream has always been to be creatively fulfilled by telling his own stories. Now back and residing in Atlanta, he’s doing just that—pursuing his own passions.

Lee enjoys working on a variety of surfaces and exploring different creative disciplines, including oil paintings, drawings, and resin sculptures—each piece telling a story that evokes a sense of magic and nostalgia. As Lee explains, “Telling the story is ALWAYS the most important thing. The snapshot of the story needs to be delivered in a way that the viewer quickly gets the message.” This combination of technique and narrative-driven storytelling is on full display in his digital painting, “The Very Fungi Caterpillar.” Using strongly designed shapes that guide the viewer through the different areas of the image, Lee adds “details and subtle, juicy, thoughtful tidbits” to accent the image and enhance the tale of wonder and enchantment.

As the artist behind Rabbit Run Studios, Tim Lee regularly displays his work in both group and solo shows. His oil paintings on canvas or wood panels, multi-media drawings on paper, and signed giclée prints have been exhibited domestically and internationally in several renowned galleries, including The Stranger Factory, CircusPosterus, Rotofugi, Cotton Candy Machine, The Dream Factory (Germany), Amplified Art Gallery, Auguste Clown Gallery (Australia), Rivet Gallery, Art Whino, REK Gallery, and more.
